Welcome to the |
In 1906, socialite Annie Sweeny Fleming opened the doors of her elegant Southside home to a group of civic minded friends and neighbors, who joined together to form one of the city’s oldest philanthropic organizations: the GFWC Woman’s Club of Fairmont.
For more than 100 years, the Woman’s Club has been helping to enhance the quality of life in Fairmont through its support of a wide range of health, education and humanitarian efforts. It is perhaps best known, however, for its work in historic preservation and community beautification, including Fairmont’s Southside Neighborhood and the Fleming Mansion itself.
Although by vote in the early years, membership today is simply by invitation. If participating in a philanthropic organization like ours appeals to you, we invite you to contact us.
